Nutrition

A healthy diet is a balanced diet which includes a wide variety of foods taken from the four main food groups: bread, other cereals and potatoes; fruit and vegetables; meat, fish and alternatives; milk and dairy foods.Sugars and fats are also an integral part of a balanced diet, but are needed in very small amounts.

There are no unhealthy foods only unhealthy diets!

Consume a variety of nutrient-dense foods and drinks among the basic food groups. Choose foods that restrict your intake of saturated and trans fats, cholesterol, added sugars, salt, and alcohol.

Follow a balanced eating pattern, such as the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Guide or the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) Eating Plan.
